What is an Associate?

The purpose of our Associate Community is to extend to Christian men and women an invitation to identify more clearly with the charism of the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart.

Together we seek to live the Gospel in the spirit of St. Francis of Assisi.

In addition to supporting each other in prayer, Associates and Sisters meet regularly for faith sharing in the areas in which they live. Some Associates have committed to carrying out the “works of neighborly love” by helping in the ministries of the Sisters, by continuing in their own jobs, or doing volunteer work in the spirit of Francis.

We presently have 81 Associates. If you feel called to support and be supported in prayer, to be a part of a faith sharing group and/or to be involved in spreading the Gospel message in the spirit of St. Francis, perhaps you are being called to be an Associate of the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart. There are no legal or financial obligations in this commitment. We welcome men and women wishing to identify with our mission, vision, goals and values.
