“What I’ve Been Through Is Not Who I Am”
This is a 21-minute film which exposes the commercial sexual exploitation of children in the United States. This documentary won Best Short Documentary at the Filmanthropy Film Festival in Santa Monica, CA in May. Through the voices of survivors, law enforcement and prosecutors from across the country, the documentary calls for policies and laws to protect the victims. “Nefarious 1: Merchant of Souls”
This documentary by filmmaker Benjamin Nolot exposes the disturbing reality of modern sex slavery. This feature-length documentary, which has won six awards, is the first of three films that he is producing on human trafficking.

IRS Ruling
Those who have received restitution payments from those convicted of human trafficking do not need to include those payments in gross income for Federal income tax purposes. This announcement was made by the Internal Revenue Service in January. This ruling is good news for those who receive restitution payments.
