On November 1, 2011, Provena Health, Mokena, IL, and Resurrection Health Care, Chicago, IL, successfully came together as a unified New Ministry. It is sponsored by the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart, the Servants of the Holy Heart of Mary, the Sisters of the Holy Family of Nazareth, the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas and the Sisters of the Resurrection. This merger has created the single largest Catholic provider in Illinois and one of the largest integrated health systems in the state.
