St. Francis of Assisi

St. Francis of Assisi ever challenges us by his words, calling us to be peacemakers.

Peace Pole

The peace pole, inscribed with the words "May peace prevail on Earth," symbolizes our commitment to reduce violence.

Sacred Meal of Saints Francis & Clare

In our sunroom is the artistic representation of the sacred meal of St. Francis and St. Clare at St. Mary of the Angels.

Artist: Kay Francis Berger, OSF, a Sister of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate. May she eternally enjoy the sacred banquet as God continues to inspire others through her art.

Stigmata Statue

This sculpture by the artist Francis Sedgwick is a powerful portrayal of St. Francis of Assisi receiving the stigmata on Mount LaVerna in Tuscany, Italy, on September 17, 1224.

Rest awhile on a park bench and contemplate the power of love.

Queen of Angels Chapel

Queen of Angels Chapel is the center of our life in community.

The story of our religious life is etched in the stained glass windows that embrace our prayer space.

Mass
    Tuesday-Sunday at 9:30 a.m.

The Cosmic Walk

The Cosmic Walk features 25 watercolor paintings by artist Mercy Sister Corlita Bonnarrens.

The paintings depict significant moments in the unfolding story of the universe, of life on earth and of the human community. They invite us into the mystery of creation that has been at work for more than 13 billion years.

Adjacent to the Cosmic Walk is a butterfly garden dedicated in honor of Helen M. Nugent, mother of Port Administrator Mary Lou Nugent.

In addition to its beauty, the garden offers care for creation by providing a sanctuary for pollinators.

Heritage Chapel

The Heritage Chapel is the original chapel that was moved here from our first Motherhouse in Avilla, Indiana.

Unless weather is extreme, the chapel is open daily beginning at 7:00 a.m. for private prayer.
